OVERT Board of Directors
The Ontario Volunteer Emergency Response Team has an elected Board of Directors (BoD). The BoD is responsible for provide strategic guidance regarding the affairs and activities of the team. Members of the Board of Directors serve one year terms, and are elected by operations members at our Annual General Meeting. Like everyone in OVERT, BoD members are volunteers and do not receive financial compensation.
The Board is meant to function independently, as such members of the BoD are not permitted to be active members with OVERT. If a member of OVERT wishes to join the board of directors they have to first resign their operational or auxiliary position.
The responsibilities of the Board of Directors are:
The Board of Directors have absolute authority to conduct all business affairs of the team, with the exception of actual operation of any search or other duty requested of the team.
